Humidity and Static Charge


The greater the relative humidity (above 50%) the greater the conductivity of charge-retaining non-conductive materials. Humidity below 30% makes non-conductive (insulative) material hold charge. However, increasing humidity isn't necessarily the best option for static control. For example, greater water vapor leads to oxidation and soldering problems.
